Odd Fuse issue

#1 Post by speedracer » Sat Sep 25, 2004 9:17 am

Last night whilst driving my tacho, temp, fuel gauges and indicators all stopped working.

Fuse! I thought.

Went to inspect said fuse this arvo to find it intact! Turned on ignition, gauges all worked!

"Odd", i thought.

Not convinced, i spent all day looking under the dash for suspect wiring. Found some too, partially melted headlight lines from before car had halogens and relay's fitted (>5 years ago)

Everything still seemed ok so i decided to go for a drive.
Put foot on brake pedal ready to release hand brake ... gauges die...

"Odd", i thought.

Checked fuses again - nothing blown.

Turn on ignition, everything works again.
Touch brake pedal, everything stops and wont start working again until i remove fuse then put it back in.

Decided to replace visibly ok fuse with another fuse, touched brake, gauges still working this time, kept touching brake, still all good!

So all that for a dodgy fuse!

Anyway just thought i'd share that with all of you - i'm off to watch Vol 1 of the Young Ones <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Cheers,
