Maestro Alternator again

#1 Post by mac » Mon Jan 17, 2005 11:52 pm

I have just fitted a Maestro diesel alternator as recommended on the site and mag. Having taken the old off I noticed that the pulleys are a different diameter to each other ! Now do I fit the old pulley or just throw the new alternator on with the larger diameter pulley? Having the new pulley fitted would slow the rpm of the unit,is this the norm?
If I use the larger pulley does anybody know the length of belt that I need? (1850 auto) at the mo its 950 mm.

ps the dia of original pulley is 65mm app.
new pulley 85mm approx.
Mac.
