Re: Running in...
FWIW, with my luck with cranks (i.e do the exact opposite and you should be OK), we did 30 minutes in top at about 3000rpm on the rolling road.
Re: Running in...
A. 50 miles or so (maybe less) the main areas that need bedding in are :
rings - you don't need to worry here (and has been said before, its better to give the rings some welly than glaze them).
cam, cam followers and rockers - again, no worries.
jackshaft gears to drive - no worries.
chain, tensioner and guides - ditto.

Revise that 50 miles to the end of the drive and you won't go far wrong.

Free, impartial and completely useless advise from the Bodger.
Re: Running in...
Cheers for that...I think <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":">

I've done a couple of miles at no more than 3000 rpm. (god that was hard work keeping my foot off the loud pedal) so it should be run in then ???

Good, as there's a Castle Combe track day in just over a week & I don't want to be pottering round there at 3000 rpm.

How's work going on yours Ben ?
Re: Running in...
Yeah, they will be fine.

Mine - hmmm, have a quick look at :

Where does the time go?

Says it all really - no way I'm getting any track time this year.

Just built and tested one of those Wideband O2 controllers, which will seem a bit strange - SU's with MegaJolt EDIS ignition and TechEdge Wideband O2 - but the madness in my method is to iron out the ignition and exhaust anaylser whilst it's still running on carbs, (and easy to swtich back to the dizzy). I've already got the MegaSquirt built and tested, but don't want to bite off too much in one hit (apart from the sills, wings, re-seal the complete floor, injection pipes and brake lines, battery to boot, roll cage, wide arches, minor engine build...god I'm a prat).

Anyway, why does work always pick up when you have more interesting things to do...
Re: Running in...
Well I think they're run-in now. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /devil.gif ALT=":evil">

I've just taken my air filters, off as they now just touch the bonnet, & went for a spin. I'LL HAVE TO SHOUT AS I CAN'T HEAR MYSELF THINK. AND THERE'S BLOOD DRIPPING FROM MY EARS.

Rather loud induction roar. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
