Proto-types

#1 Post by shaggywrx » Fri Jun 10, 2005 4:15 pm

For my own rabid curiosity and the wealth of knowledge available here but......

Looking on the Unofficial Austin Rover web resource (www.au ... There are quite a few prototypes pictured. Did any survive? The SD2 pictured has obviously made it into a fully built example
Reg LUL 79P. Was this crushed or was it picked up by a museum maybe?

I do know that a couple of very early Stag prototypes made it out into the public domain, and I believe the ADO 70 is still alive somehwere (Gaydon maybe?)

If you rummage on Austin-rover.co.uk, there is a picture of it at a classic car event. It lives at Gaydon, I think.

I think it was the TR7 designers second attempt at a car<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ferent.gif ALT=":|">
Skoda meets BX with SD1 doors. It is indeed at Gaydon. I think they keep it as a reminder of what not to do.

I believe it was out at the Nene Valley classic car show last year. Very forgettable.
