Re: Power to the Coil

So making progress turns out the car was wired unballasted so have it traced down to a weak spark from the coil.
My next step is trying to source original Lucas Points and Condenser so if you know anyone could you let me know.

Thanks everyone for the input its been a big help in ...

Re: Brake master cylinder 1500 auto

That is a standard RHD tandem cylinder. Most manuals/parts books were written whilst RHD cars still had the single line system, so the tandem ones illustrated are often those only fitted to LHD cars.

Yes, it is a prise out/push in connection for the reservoir, there are quite sizeable flanges on ...

Brake master cylinder 1500 auto

I have finally removed my Brake master cylinder, question is in all of the manuals / books I have, none of the master cylinders are the same as this, tried to add pics of it as its the seals leaking around the reservoir and is it a prise out job as no securing screws holding the reservoir to the ...

Re: ROO's Heritage certificate!

Thanks for the replies, I'm not worried about the MOT exemption just the Tax and the reason why it states HL on my heritage certificate.
Also the reason it may have stood for 10 months, also on the certificate it doesn't state a despatch date or a dealer it was despatched to but I have this ...

ROO's Heritage certificate!

Have just this morning received my heritage certificate for my car Stating my car was dispatched as a 1500HL when it is a flat plank, square headlight 1500 bog standard non HL. I only wanted to find out the build date to see if it was yet tax exempt and with a build date of 11th June 1980 I presume ...

Re: 1500 air filters

Locking nut? As far as I recall on the HS carbs the lower hex is the mixture adjusting nut (changes the "base" height of the jet)
The upper hex I think is just the fixing for the jet carrier?

Had to back the top nut off to be able to move the mixture nut, did nip it back up after backing it ...

Re: 1500 air filters

Re instated the air box with new filters etc, must say a big improvement on the pancake filters the PO had installed, now will have cold air coming in instead of the warm air from the engine bay. I have leaned the carbs off a little as they were running rich, anything else I may need to adjust? The ...

Bolt x4 BH505181 5/16 UNC x 2 1/4 long.

Please cross-check the bolt part number. You'll need gaskets as well.
Thanks, Air filters ordered, hopeful of sourcing bolts locally. Thanks Rich..

Re: Nissan qashqai Problems

I've heard nothing but bad news about Qashqais from three people I work with who own them. My boss had owned hers less than two years and had had to return it to Nissan 7 times in that period and they seemingly had no idea what was wrong with it. On the 7th time it was of course out of warranty by ...

Re: New head gasket, torquing sequence

Can anybody tell me the torquing sequence and figures for a dolly 1850/(TR7) head please? Guessing it is different to a "normal" head with vertical studs (ie spiral out from the middle)
And the re-torquing procedure?

TIA
Clive

Re: Nissan qashqai Problems

From the point of view of someone who has done lots of cambelts on these engines, if there was a misalignment issue i cant see it having lasted 7 years or 61k. Without seeing the damage first hand i cant tell, but it could just be one of those things. Belts age and perish, thats why theres always ...

matt of the vivas wrote: Sat Aug 18, 2018 1:22 pm What year is the car and what mileage?
The car is a 61 plate and current mileage is almost 61k. The Nissan case manager quoted the cambelt change as 6 years or 90k.
