Re: Windscreen washer pumps
I might be wrong but I think the screen wash additive is a non starter. Screen wash by it's very nature cleans and gets rid of or "cuts through" oil, dirt and grime. So any metal surface it touches will be left clean and oil free and therefore exposed to the moisture and air and hence possible ...

Re: Ziebart Treatment, a poll.
My '75 Sprint doesn't look like it was Ziebated - no tell tale plugs anywhere. It has had some welding in the past but not a massive amount. Not sure of it's history but I'm pretty sure it has "gone round the clock" - it now shows 17,000 miles and the dash and dash loom have the correct date showing ...

Re: Cylinder head studs
it was on the rear two studs on my Stag block when I rebuilt it, As the Sprint and 1850 engines have the same arrangement I would expect to see the same issue there.
Also worth pointing out that the angled studs can distort the side of the hole as they exit the head face if the head has been ...

Re: curios items
Look like they could be stone guards to fit to the wing/arch behind the wheels to protect against stone chips.

Re: Cylinder head studs
Ah didn't appreciate the ARP set replaced the bolts as well. In that case if the studs can take the strain so to speak then all it should do is squash the gasket a bit more, though I would be a little concerned about distortion of the block face around the top of the threads. It does happen with ...

Re: Cylinder head studs
So long as the nuts fit on the end of the stud with the slot and the thread on the other end fits the thread in the block there's no problem.
BUT .... if the nut thread was originally UNC (coarse pitch) and the ARP ones are UNF (Fine pitch) then what torque figure do you use?? Everything else ...

Robsport lists 159463, the picture on the website looks correct, but I would phone and check with them before ordering:

Re: Batteries and Springs....
Mine had a Numax 038 fitted when I got it, no idea how long it had been in there for but it is still OK 5 years later.

Re: Carb jets
Yes, agree with Steve. Start afresh get new jets and needles. Also check the carbs over as they have obviously been bodged in the past.

Re: Carb jets
OK I am assuming the orange band is on the one with the Red jet head which should be on the front carb (I think!) which is correct. I also assume the one with the green band has the black head which makes it a AUD9141 which is a 0.090" jet, hence why it is weak, that is wrong! If that is the case ...

Re: Carb jets
Short answer is yes. The only difference is one is for the left hand carb and on is for the right hand carb.
The fact that the jet bases are different colours (one red and one black) shows the jets are different, i.e not a pair, (not just LH and RH). But it doesn't indicate in which way.

Re: 1975 1500TC - Rich running
A 1975 1500 TC should be running HS4 carbs ( AUD665 F & R) and ABT needles unless it is a '76 model in which case it might have slightly later carbs, still HS4's but FZX 1258 F & R. still fitted with ABT needles. Later - 1977 on - had ADN needles which are similar profile but slightly leaner.

Re: Inter Club International, 3 Counties Malvern 28-30 June 2024
It really is a good show. We camped Friday and Saturday nights. I was mainly there with the Peerless and Warwick Owners Register, I persuaded my wife to follow me up in the Sprint as I was driving the Warwick and feel a bit vulnerable on the motorways (low slung car, fibreglass body, no seat belts ...
