Hi all, I'm planning to investigate Betty's speedo cable to see if I can cure the bouncing needle.
Is is possible to disconnect from the back of the speedo without removing the parcel tray?
Any recommended tips or tricks?
Thanks

Intertia reel rear seatbelts fitting
In the process of fitting Securon 254 rear belts, and finding the fitting of the inertia reels on the parcel tray challenging.
What direction have others positioned the Z bracket? Facing forward or backward?
I've seen some photos of it facing forward with the reels sitting on top of the seat back ...

Re: Springs and Gaz dampers
Hi Steve. Yeah I found out that GAZ think all toledo fronts are the same as Dolly when they sent me the wrong diameter spring seats 😥
I see others have mentioned having to get the spring seats turned down in a lathe.
I went back to the local GAZ agent and got the correct size spring seats sent ...

Springs and Gaz dampers
Toledo with standard springs and shocks currently. I have Gaz ASP dampers to go on the front, and now looking at buying rears as well and fitting the front and rears at the same time.
The fronts I was planning to run with standard springs, but curious as to what springs other Toledos with Gaz all ...

Re: Tuning 1300 Dolly
The best head to use in terms of biggest valves is the earlier 1300 Toledo head and the best standard cam is that from the 1300 MkIII Spitfire.
However, the Spit cam is designed to run in bearings whereas the 1300 Dolly/Toledo cam runs directly in the block without bearings. There are advantages ...

OHV intake manifolds (single carb)
Does anyone know how many different types of single carb intake manifolds were used across the OHV range (including Spits)?
And what size runners each type has.

Re: OHV engine mounts
The official Triumph Dolomite Range 1976 Onwards Catalogue identifies the 1300, 1500 & 1500HL as using an engine mount having a part number 149934 and the 1850 is identified as using a different mount with a part number 158016.
However if you look at later documentation such as the Rimmers ...

3 rail gear selector rebush kit - red washer placement
Currently rebushing Betty's gear selector with the kit part number 519770 to eliminate gear stick slop and rattle.
I can place all of the parts in the kit except for 2 red washers which appear to be a fibre material. Looking at all other bits in the kit, I have narrowed it down to them being part ...

Gaz front ASP shocks - early Toledo
Received my Gaz front shocks for Betty recently. When checking the spring seat diameter I have found they are too large.
The internal raised piece that is supposed to sit inside the bottom of the spring is 81mm = 3.2 inch approx.
The OD of my springs is approx. 90mm/3.5in, and the ID appears to be ...

Re: setting up Gaz suspension
Did you receive the right size spring seat for your fronts?
My measurement of my front spring ID (while on car) is 2.75in, but the Gaz spring seats I've been sent are closer to 3.25 inch.
