Re: Sprint screen wash pump comes on intermittently
The problem is solved! On the wiper stalk the "housing" retaining the spring had broken. This meant that the conical copper contact operated by the spring was not disengaging properly. A drop of superglue resolved the issue.

Re: Sprint screen wash pump comes on intermittently
The pump switches on even if there's no water. It's not a problem of irregular flow when I activate the screen washer. The issue is that the pump comes on by itself at random.

Sprint screen wash pump comes on intermittently
The screen wash pump on my 1975 Sprint pumps fluid intermittently. Any suggestions as to where the problem is? Thanks.

Re: 1975 Sprint Front Anti-Roll Bar Diameter
I have just measured the diameter of the anti-roll bar on my 1975 Sprint and it comes out at 22mm. Probably 1mm of this is due to rust and/or underseal so I would guess that 21mm is about right.

Sprint fuse box wiring
From the Sprint lower 35A fuse there are 5 green wires going to various switches and components. I cannot understand why, with 6 spade terminals available on that side of the fuse box, Triumph decided to group the green wires 2 + 1 + 2 and use only 3 of the spade terminals. I recently had to ...

Re: Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
Hi Guys. I completed this conversion on May 4-5. Quite a lot of learning took place, and I am starting to write up what I found out. I located the blue/red and blue/white wires from the column stalk by unravelling the wiring in the "rats' nest" along the front of the car and working backwards from ...

Re: Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
Hi again Mahesh. Yes, the load is split, but when the main beam (left hand) relay is in use all 230W are required. On dip, when the right hand relay is in use, only 110W is required so I agree that a 30A fuse is excessive in this case. The kit from Rimmer Bros had two 15A fuses. 15A is fine for the ...

Re: Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
Hi Mahesh. Thanks for your comment. On main beam the power required is 60 + 60 + 55 + 55 = 230 watts. The fuse is rated roughly 50% higher to allow for poor contacts and increased resistance losses.

Re: Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
I think that I have now figured out the fuse parts supplied by Rimmer Bros. The plastic parts ARE holders for mini fuses, and while one of the 15A mini fuses will work fine for the DIP relay, the MAIN BEAM relay will require a 30A mini fuse.

Re: Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
Hi Tony,
Thanks - this is very helpful. A couple of questions.
When you say "connect to the stalk" I presume that you mean the main/dip/flasher unit on the steering column? Also, the kit that Rimmer Bros have supplied (which seems to differ from what you received) has two 15A mini fuses pus a ...

Halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmers
I have today received my halogen headlamp conversion kit from Rimmer Bros and was disappointed to discover that the "Fitting Instructions" is one - barely legible - drawing relating to the H4 wiring harnesses supplied with the kit. There is nothing which describes what to do with the other wires ...

Re: Sprint Clutch Master Cylinder?
A few years ago my clutch master cylinder died. My local garage confirmed that a master cylinder for a Land Rover Series 2/2A (part number 90569126) works perfectly, just needs an adapter to reduce (?) the thread size at the hydraulic outlet.

Re: Stud UKC5475 for Dolomite Sprint rear brake
A new 3/8" stud from Rimmer Bros has now been fitted to my Sprint. However, prior to ordering the 3/8" studs I had already located 7/16" studs on the Demon Tweeks website and had ordered two of them. These two 7/16" studs are surplus to my requirements. Does anyone want them?

Thanks for the eBay suggestion. However, on further investigation it turns out that for my 1975 Sprint I need 3/8" UNF studs and Rimmer Bros DO have these in stock. Ordered today

Stud UKC5475 for Dolomite Sprint rear brake
Does anyone know where I can locate one of these 7/16" studs for my Sprint? Rimmer Bros show them as unavailble. Thanks,
Robert Ross
