Re: South West Dolly Day Sun 29th June

Afternoon All, I'm definitely going to make an attempt to attend, subject to breakdown on the way. I'm not intending on purchasing tickets for the museum, as its so local I been loads of times. However; if your short on numbers purchasing tickets, I will do so to help ensure everyone gets the 30 ...

Re: Coolant hoses.

1850, can you get silicone for an 1850? and would they be the way to go?
Also, actual coolant as well, will waterless work in our cars?

Re: Sherborne Classic & Supercars Show

My family are trying to get me to go as well, my lad seems to think it's a 100 Anniversary of Triumph? Is the club not attending in any capacity as I'd definitely show my car then.

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

Thanks for the very kind offers, but I'm confident given my new found knowledge gained from here and elsewhere that the 1850HL is different set up to the Sprint at the front. I've currently got lowered Spax and uprated springs all round. I can't use these as a pattern as the front sits low and the ...

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

I missed the previous posts, before My last one. The problem that springs (no pun intended) to mind is how can you confirm what part no. an 'old' spring is before fitting? even our usual port of calls don't seem to sell the correct new part.
I would gladly take an old pair or set of springs, anyone ...

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

Now there's a thought, is this something that the club could consider doing, such is the confusion surrounding standard fitment. I made a quick phone call to Springcoil Ltd. in Sheffield who have made lowered springs for our cars before and is currently investigating if they have the pattern for ...

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

Thanks Steve, that's really useful information to know. Is there any company that still supplies usable springs, remanufactured or otherwise?
As for shock absorbers, where to get TCK992's or equivalent?

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

That's an interesting thought Jerone, I like the idea of doing that. What shocks would you recommend, not keen on using old ones if I can avoid it.

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

Contacted Rimmers, chap did try to be helpful working from home, but....he said that the front springs are the same for all Dolomites. Has anyone fitted TKC768 to car other than a Sprint and the ride height is correct. For that matter has anyone fitted front and rear shocks and springs from Rimmers ...

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

My main reason to change is for a better quality ride. I've lived with the rattle for a while and all bushes have recently been swapped out. Rimmer bros only show standard springs and shocks. I was curious of there quality, are there better standard set us components to use.

Re: Standard Shocks & Springs

Can I ask why only the rear? Very little weight on the rear. Another dislike of the Spax is I think I can hear a constant rattle, that I'm told is the internal valve.

Standard Shocks & Springs

I'm looking to revert back to a standard suspension set up on my 1850. Any advice would really be appreciated. I find my current adjustable Spax and lowered springs to harsh for the roads around Somerset, even on there softest setting, so looking to replace them. Would the products from Rimmer bros ...

Re: Front Parcel Shelf Remanufacture

To be fair it was done a couple of years ago but it was never stuck down that well and since then it's started to peel off. I think the mistake was not replacing the foam on the metal bar, that's original.

Re: Front Parcel Shelf Remanufacture

Steve I'd be more than happy with just the base, I've had a look at my car, and unless your head is at seat base level I don't think what you can see is an issue and actually makes access easier if required.
I've got a front bar that has already been attempted to be covered, but badly and cost £50 ...
