The EFI looks to be coming on nicely Dave, but what on earth is that strut brace doing on a Dolomite? Absolutely un-necessary with unequal wishbones.

Re: Dolomite spare wheel?

It certainly LOOKS like one, though I suspect it will be worse than useless on your car, if it even fits at all (though I know the PCD matches) It kinda depends on what brakes you are using!

I also don't recognise the wheels on your car but the Blue one has MGF 15" wheels so assume those are 14" or ...

Re: Diff Ratio Puzzle

For absolute certainty, whip the diff out of the case, count the teeth and do the sums. This front loader is a lot easier to work with than the Salisbury axle in the Sprint.

Another vague memory from my GT6 days says the 3.27 has a unique 9 tooth pinion which is a good identifier. It was also ...

Re: What a bargain !!

Seeing as it has a non O/D gearbox, it'd be interesting to discover the engine number. A double or 3 figure engine number might impart some value!

Otherwise it's a £100 gamble!

Re: Diff Ratio Puzzle

3.27 is the second tallest diff ratio offered or sold in any Triumph ever. It was only ever factory fitted to non overdrive GT6 and 1850 auto Dolomites. The tallest is the 3.08 used only in the TR8 (it also found it's way into the SD1, but that's a Rover)

I vaguely remember hearing of a 2.9 ratio ...

IMHO this isn't quite true. The gov back tracked and changed the law in 2021, so only historic vehicles constructed before ...

...and the coin tray is standard more or less past the first 2000 cars

CAB, with chassis number 6712, has no coin tray.

And SCG with number 10250 had one, but that WAS an auto, which might make a difference.

To be fair, I was guessing the change point on this based on experience. Mostly the ...

Re: Dolomite Sprint for sale

Looks quite nice to start with but a few oddities abound - a 1975 car?

It has the early type badge on the front and the seamed vinyl roof which would be correct, but a series 2 dashboard (round hazard light switch etc.), OD, coin tray and headrested seats and a tandem brake cylinder which I ...

Re: Dolly Sprint clutch kits

I buy, use and recommend Larkspeed clutches. They do 3 for the Sprint in varying stages of performance, the lowest spec (uprated road?) one is fine for anything you'll be doing on the road.

Have fitted several and been very pleased wih the quality, no fuss, no judder and no failures so far. The ...

Re: 1300 Surging at lower speeds

The poppet valve in the butterfly is supposed to help with potential cutting out when returning to idle, the idea being that engine vacuum on a closed throttle at revs will suck it open and increase the air a little so it drops to idle a little more slowly. I suppose it IS indirectly related to ...

Is this the ex Mad Mart trackday car in white and green?

If so, I know he painted it himself (or had it painted at his instructions) and may have a bit of colour left lying around for it. Worth giving him a shout in any case!

Most likely the linkage from the interior handle but worth checking that the childlocks haven't been set?

Easily understood, but if that was the case, it would be the other way round, with child locks deployed the door can only be opened from OUTSIDE, these can only be opened from inside.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump

There are many choices of pump and at least 2 good locations.

Most of the cheap pumps you find on ebay are poor quality and rather noisy in operation (need rubber mounting as a minimum) the best location is to break into the pipe under the boot floor and fit it there. Most aftermarket electric ...
