Re: Oil pump chatter???
Thanks gents. Yes starting to think the same. I think I will go for a new pump (robsport) with a new correct spring fitted. Was thinking my spring could be worn and maybe the valve plunger or sleeve could be worn also. Runs like a dream otherwise.

Oil pump chatter???
Hi all. Got a strange issue. My sprint engine has been prefessiinally rebuilt. It drives like a dream but it has one minor issue. I seem to be getting a rattkev/ chatter from the dizzy / fuel pump / oil pump area at abou 800 to 900 rpm when hot. The pump had a new impellor fitted but case and relief ...

Sprint ignition timing
HI All.
What timing figure at what engine speed do you use when setting timing using Strobe ? Standard sprint (except for enlarged down pipe and sports Exhaust)?
I am using Esso 99 RON (no Ethanol).
Just want to minimise the trial and error activity a bit.
Thanks all.

Wiper spindle black washer
Hi all. Anyone know who is selling good fitting wiper spindle washers (the black rubber / plastic washer / spacer that sits between screen surround and wiper spindle chrome nut?). I had 2 from RB a few years back which were too big. So reused old ones. Now one has cracked.
Thanks all.

Re: Rain water leak
Hi gents. Thanks for the ideas. I am pretty sure there is no rot, but dry seams might be a cause but pretty surevtheybwere over sealed in 2002 before the respray.
I will somehow seal the wiper spindles (I think the black washers have hardend slightly) and then get the hose pipe out. Such fun...

Rain water leak
Hi all. Now having owned my sprint for 30 years I should probably know the answer to this but thought I would ask anyway. I have just driven the sprint on a 100 mile round trip to collect my repaired Furguson VHS video star top loader (thanks Peter). Most of the journey was on the m40. Torrential ...

Re: Seat Foams
Having taken my seats apart a few times it appears the squib foam on the rear of the seat material itself is disintegrating and causing the orange dust.... The main foams are now also starting to go.. Does anyone know if the squib foam can be replaced on the rear of the seat fabric without ...

Brake pieps.
Hi all.
Anyone know where I can purchase the copper brake pies that run from caliper to the bracket / rubber hose? I need both sides by Friday 17th July. (Needs to be mail order).
Failing that, anyone know the length and fitting types on each end ?
Thanks All.

Re: Brake disc issues.
They are def fitted correctly. All surfaces clean and rust free. Even tried a new hub, stub axle and bearings, (which were going to be fitted at a later date). Still no better. Tried rotating discs on the hub. Just fitted the replacement set they sent. Run out better on one side but still 0.2mm on ...

Hi all. SPRINT RELATED. ST
Just discovered the rotor arm has been hitting the dizzy cap electrodes. (this explains the misfire that started suddenly last week).
Cause is too much slop in the dizzy shaft.
My question is... Can this be repaired by me at home or is it time for a recon distributor?

Hi all.
Anyone know if its possible to soften the engagement / disengagement of j type on a sprint. Was recon few years ago but very low miles since. It's always been like it. Complete box is coming out soon so wondered if anything I myself could do to make it glide in rather than thump in. Oil used ...
