Local lad knocked on my door yesterday having seen Quicksprint sitting on the trailer outside using my road as a shortcut for the first time in 20 years to tell me he was buying it and looking forward to joining the Club and restoring it after a 4 day epic with his mates to collect it.
Hurrah, another local member!

Re: Who is selling a red Sprint in Ayrshire?
That sound's about right
That is...........
Nairnshire not Ayrshire?
The registration is RVD509M.
Last used in 1994. Price is £1000.
I am told it is in Ardersier and has been advertised for months and months in the local free ads paper (Scot-Ads).
It is also advertised in Triumph World.
There was a DSR member (now sadly deceased) in Burghead who restored a red Sprint in the 90s but that is not the same car. (He also restored another Sprint before that, which I think he sold to a man in MacDuff. I don't remember the colour of that one.)
Nairnshire is about 130 miles from me.
If you are interested in buying and willing to trust my opinion I could take a look at it for you, Alun, assuming the seller is agreeable of course.

From what I gather Ian, the deal has been done, it just needs collecting. Shame, I could have sold him a project and saved him a trip!!
I will PM you his number as I don't know him from Adam apart from him knocking on the door. I don't know if he has inspected the car or not, if not, he may welcome the SP from an expert...

Hasn't been on the road for 21 years, either it's now a washing machine or a future ebay "Barn find"!
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)
Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

I never heard from the bloke who knocked on my door again, and I've not seen such a car around anywhere.
