Curious as to whether anyone has fitted/had experience with a Phantom Grip diff. Very seriously considering this as the next expenditure on the Silver Sprint as it does seem to provide all the benefits of an LSD without the cost.

Phantom Grip diff
Re: Phantom Grip diff
Hello, for a friends triumph 2000 i did order a phantom grip. But having the thing in my hands i did recommend him NOT to use it. I think it will ruin your diff. There was also a fitting instruction with it. When it does not fit within the tolerances you have to grind off some metal of the inner gears. The picture on the instructionpaper was showing an anglegrinder.........
It will work for a while but it is a bit like the petrol additive that brings you extra 10hp.

Re: Phantom Grip diff
That's a proper bit of kit, the phantom grip thing is a bit...rubbish, as far as I can see it's just a little steel block that slots into a normal open diff. If that could work properly and take as much abuse as a proper LSD, I don't see why other people don't do it instead.xvivalve wrote:What about these guys?

How much is a DaveMac LSD out of interest? My car needs a 'slippy diff to get back to stock...

Answered my own question, £680. About the same as the Quaife one, but this appears to be more similar to the original design.
