Hi Alan,
Sorry I didn't make it - I ended up at Jods house! He has managed to fix my flashing for now
One of the wires on the switch had broken (as it moves slightly each time you indicate) but it was sort of moulded into position thus if you put on full beam the switch would rock forward and occasionally make contact. A spot of solder later and we were back in business!!
One of these days we will both make it to a local meeting at the same time! Thanks for you advice and the offer of a stalk
