Just don't fit a vinyl roof to it though.

Tempted Julian. Even the vinyl roof would be a unique challenge.

Spent the day doing lots of bitty stuff.

Clips turned up today so refitted the rear roof trim, C pillar chrome strips and C pillar Sprint badges.

Connected up an old battery and checked all the lighting, rectified a few faults with the front lighting plugs and discovered both outer hi/lo beam units are duff, wired the o/d switch, finished plumbing the cooling system, (thanks Alun/Mart) cleaned and fitted the fan, washer bottle and fitted an oil pressure gauge and new brake light switch.

Was gonna fit the prop but the rear 'box seal is weeping so got to replace that first. Not worth skimping for a £4 seal.

Just got to fit the rear brakes up now I have the new cylinders and apart from an electric fan it's pretty much there mechanically.

Just waiting for some door caps kindly offered by Michael C and I can make a start on finishing the interior.

I am so jealous. Your workmanship looks superb and I'm sure it will be a stunner when finished. Well done!

Now this may sound like a stupid question but where did you get your wipers from?

I'm obsessed with period features, the correct style of number plate, wipers etc...

Tis a sad life that I lead!!!!

Wipers came with the car. I also have a spare pair that I aquired a while back as back ups. Only annoying thing is the refils from Rimmers come with a black plastic carrier rather than the stainless steel of the originals.

I'm also nuts about period features/originality, and thought I'd just swap the blade into the stainless carrier but the captive bit of the profile is slightly undersize compared to the o/e stuff, allowing the rubber blade to fall out so I'm stuck with the plastic bit for now. It fits OK, just not original.

Eyes now peeled for genuine refils !

Genuine refills are easy enough to find but are rather expensive. I have 2 sets, one for show and one for the MOT man!

There will be plenty of bright blades and refills at HPOM, the wiper guy is there every year.

Derek, I'll be taking the door cappings off on Friday when I get back from doing office stuff in Whiteley. Couldn't find a jiffy bag big enough for four whole doors... I'll aim to get them wrapped and sent Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
Cheers
