Midland Dolly Day Sunday 23rd August

#1 Post by xvivalve »

Thinking of organising a local event in August sometime so long as Glynn confirms it can be published in a DM to be compiled and issued well in advance of then to let all members know.

Meet in Stourbridge mid morning with a short jaunt planned on good local roads over to Bridgnorth and then ambling down the Severn Valley to Bewdley, over the bridge and stop for Sunday lunch at Bodenham Arboretum: http://www.bodenham-arboretum.co.uk/ which costs about a tenner/head for a bloody good feast of a variety of traditional Sunday roasts including a basic pudding and drinks. Individual options on whether to enjoy the arboretum after or disperse at will.

I will have to book the spaces for lunch and would therefore need to confirm numbers to them about 14 days in advance

Entry to the arboretum proper after lunch is about a fiver per head.

Great idea! But try to avoid 8th/9th August as this would clash with the Stag Owners Club rally at Uttoxeter, which some midlands members are planning to attend.

Confirmed as being Sunday 23 August 2009...

Need to know numbers joining us for lunch a minimum of two weeks in advance, though obviously there is no obligation on all participants taking lunch at all...

Nicky and I are up for this, if that is OK. It sounds a lovely day out.

Sorry Alun, can't make it now. My continuing nemesis, bloody bleedin' effin' bleedin' AVO shock absorbers, has struck again. It's MOT time on Monday so I've got to spend tomorrow sorting the car out  @rse !

Bugger, just increased the bums on seats for lunch today!

You'll be home with at least a couple of hours of daylight left for playing with suspension...

Thanks for organizing this, made it home in one piece even if the M6 didn't want to play
