Scottish events

#1 Post by melj »

Hello

There are a couple of Scottish events in September which I'm thinking of going to, though I seem to be too late to enter my car for showing (typical combination of being too busy and too disorganised!).

However, if any members local to here fancied a day out, or are already showing their cars there, then it would be nice to see you!

Hi Melj

Selkirk is a fantastic show with loads of different cars - and the usual tractors etc. I was bloody terrified last year by the big scary traction engines and the spooky noises they make!

Big autojumble(or at least there was last year)

We'll be there with my Zephyr and if we can blag a free pass from our Ford club, may bring the new addition to the family. Do you know if there is camping on site? I believe there is a cruise on Saturday so we'd like to make a cheap weekend of it.

Hope to meet you somewhere sometime. :bluewave:

Definitely going to Selkirk with a couple of friends in my 1500. I'm not sure if there's camping on site, I haven't been before.

I'll look out for you and your Zephyr!! And hope you bring the Sprint too!

I'll be at Selkirk since it's not far from here. I'll be the one who spends much of the day sitting in the car watching the F1 on the TV. Might be on the Kitten Register stand if someone else drops out, failing that the car shown in my avatar and sig strip will be in the car park. :D

The link wouldn't open but I take it they're still using Sunderland Hall?

Cool - I'll attempt to park next to you in the car park then!

Yes, Sunderland Hall still, I believe.

Hope it's good weather.

The new Dolly in our life has managed to blag a place in amongst the Pre 67 Fords for the day so we will bring both! We'll be the ones wandering around the show with a greyhound and a stupid collie

We are camping - will need to bring extra blanket me thinks as its bloody cold at night now.

Also planning on doing thr run on Saturday - more petrol but as the season is coming to an end, why not :P

Hope to meet a few of you and make some Triumph friends. Please say hi if you spot us.

Really enjoyed Selkirk as a visitor last year - and lets hope there is plenty Autojumble to leave us skint.

TTFN

I'll be going to Selkirk, but I haven't entered a car. Hopefully I will managed to spot some of you there.

I'll probably get there about 1o'clock. I will be in my black and white TR3 and I will be coming in convoy with my friend in his Pimento Spitfire. We will have to park in the public car park as we were too late to book in to the show. Hopefully catch up with you.

I won't make the mistake that I made last year by turning up on the Saturday when they're all out for the convoy run! There's no F1 as I first thought, so I won't have the telly on in the car, but I've asked and they said I can use a parking space up by the Hall on hard standing, so that'll see me on the showground looking around from noonish on.
I'll be the bloke with the pavement scooter that has a 90cc Briggs & Stratton engine where the traction motors used to go. Well flat batteries are Llareggub use on wet grass....
