Correct, top marks to that man, they didnt fit, in fact not even close.
If you look up through the thread both John and i said the same about the Sceptre wheels, as i guess you've missed my bit, make sure you save the rostyles from the scrap man, if nowt else you could sell them to a Ford owner, or maybe another Rootes group owner for their chariot!!

My old Vitesse on Montego 14" steels with Spitfire centre caps. The centre caps just needed a couple of mil taking off the diameter to fit in the centre of the wheel. Most people just assumed it was on Spitfire rims

There's a set of Wellers on Ebay right now that I think would look great in black with a polished outer edge....
If I had any spare cash they'd be on my car by now.
I reckon those Wellers would look better in body colour with a set of chrome trim rings to cover the edge. There's also 2 pairs of minilites, one pair 7Jx13, the other 8Jx13.
Must admit though, the wellers are good value as they have a set of apparently good 175/70 tyres on as well. If i had a spare £100 i'd have them!! I know they're only up for £25, i need the rest for petrol to collect, lol!!
Reckon i'm going to hunt down a set of Marina TC wheels for mine though, clean them up, spray them bright silver and do the "inserts" body colour. Then high gloss lacquer them!! Done similar with the alloys on my Rover (except the body colour bit) and they look near enough new now!

ps having seen the Montego rims with the Spitfire insert, that could well be another option, body colour, chrome trim ring and silver centre..................hmmm, thinking cap time!!

I'm going to a gig down that way (Havant) on the 4th and I'm going to Cambridge (well Kentford) on the 16th...
Iirc anything over 6j doesn't fit without surgery to the arches.
I have some whote wellers of 5.5J in my shed that I will part with for a suitable offer.
I have so many Sprint wheels now I doubt I'll ever use anything esle.
I have some GT6 wheels on my spit. They look silly....too fat.
I'd quite like some 5J spit wheels. Mine should have 4.5's being a 78 one. The 4's came in with the dual master in mid 79
I reckon SE wheels suit a dolly really well....the spit look, 5J and right offset.

Having said that, i'm quite happy to act as a "postman" if anybody else would like to bid on them, unless i've got it wrong it looks like we can get the wheels to Cambridgeshire fairly easily.
Is there anything set up within the forum for shifting parts round the country by various members picking them up and passing them on to other members until they reach their destination? "Dolly-mail" as it were?

The club is good for helping people out. With things getting to where they're needed.
I'm more than happy to deliver stuff Cambridge/London way and vice versa as I'm quite often down that part of the world anywho.

Very few, you're not wrong there. But they include Marina saloon, Estate and Coupé in all engine sizes and both petrol and Diesel, Itals saloon and Estate and Marina & Ital commercials in 1100cc and 1300cc, 7cwt versions, the heavy ones having 4½" instead of the 3¾" hubs.
Then there are Metros, post-"A" series only, Freelander, the earlier versions that were Montego rather than Focus derived and various Triumph-based kits over the years.
It's a wonder there aren't racks filled with 3¾" pcd wheels in every branch of Halfords......
