the lens on ebay has the reflector missing, if Nath cant help i have spare lenes as well as the dash bit, rear view mirror (original fwd styleee) and wheel trims. the steering cowling badge thingy will probably be inside the cowling, i remember it falling out, the reversing light is missing cos i removed it as it was broken.
Early fwds had colour matching boot liner and boot carpet, later fwds had black sides and rubber boot mat.
It will be easier enough to make a cardboard template of the boot liner to transfer onto the chardboard trim.

I shall have a look for the little plastic thingy at the weekend. J, you have a pm sir.
I can always make a boot liner out of some red carpet
and as you say a templete would do be good. I shall have a look at Stoneleigh for the pukka hardboard.
I shall just remove the other reversing light from the boot lid and maybe fit one onto the bumper (if I can be bothered) or under the light cluster a la Nellie perhaps. I shall continue to have a look on fleabay.
Hope those bumpers some off ok.

Woohoo...... whilst rooting around this evening I found the workshop manual and...... a couple of wheel trim. Yay!

Started work on the fwd this morning. Stripped all of the trim off the roof, C pillars, boot and rear end. The reversing light has been removed as it was broken anyway. Just have to remove the number plate, number plate lights and the Triumph lettering (individual letters). Will need to remove the rear bumper as well (not urgent though at this point).
My knotted wire brush and DA will remain my dearest best friends. Might actually make a start tomorrow.
Overall, it looks like a sound body, the interior will clean up, the engine could benefit from a good clean up and service. It is just incredibly tatty. The boot area needs a good clean up, the o/s boot trim is goosed, but the n/s and rear ones (in red) are ok. There is a very decent towbar on the car which is really handy.

Forgot to add that the rear bumper came up quite decently with autosol. Not sure about the front one yet. Will also need to remove the rear screen as i will be fitting a heated one instead.

Here we go. Some piccies as promised. Only had about 30 minutes of grinding time, the damn thing kept cutting out. A trip to Machine Mart beckons perhaps.
Metalwork on the bootlid appears solid enough, with only a bit of rustiness along the top lip, no rust pits or holes in the rest of it. Not a major issue tbh.









That's all for now. There is an additional brake light hidden in the middle vent. Looks quite neat from this side. Not sure how it's wired in though. There is quite a bit of 'extra' wiring in this car. Nearer it's time of completion I might ask for assistance from anyone who is handy with a multimeter and a soldering iron
Once the boot lid is fully stripped it will be attacked with several passes of the DA with varying grades of disk. It will be again rust proofed, etch primed, sprayed with filler primer and a rattle can top coat applied to protect it.

Good progress Ken. It looks a bit of a mess, but there doesn't look to be anything too serious. I like the extra brake light!

No mate, it'll be the same type of paint. It'll be keyed though to provide a bit of grip for the other layers.

Those bumpers look as though (from the pictures) they will polish up nicely. The rear bumper has those neat little touches like the over-riders and the little 1300 badge in the centre that separates them from ordinary bumpers like those on the Toledo. The 1300 has the best bumpers in the range in my opinion. Nice photo's Ken, keep up the good work.

Cheers. My first 1300fwd, Gigi, who adorned the front cover of a Club mag some time back, had a reversing light fitted to the rear bumper. I think it was a factory fit one too. Am pleased with it so far. I will have to take the petrol tank out to remove the rear bumper at some point.

I think it's an excellent idea. Glad it's been done tbh, anything that improves the safety aspect is a good thing.
I will probably tackle a panel at a time. Thyat way I don't get overwhelmed and can really pay attention to what I am doing. I am looking at a replacement bonnet on ebay at the moment as the one on the car is horrible underneath and would be a shed load of work.

When I say that idea, I mean the stop-light not putting a shopping basket on the roof you understand?
