Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
Re: Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
Let's hope one is gone before the other turns up, otherwise who knows what effect the clash might cause!alolympic wrote:It's not bright anyway, not like some stupid colours that people paint their cars![]()

You can have whatever colour you like Derek.
Although I believe it was only done for one year 75/76ish.

The actual colour is darker than most of those pics., more like the first pic.
Definitely a "Marmite" colour.

nothing can be worse than mimosa for photographing !!!
magenta cant be anywere near that difficult so whats next lol saphire would photograph pretty good i think

Re: Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
I reckon the shot of the front end/engine bay is the closest to what it is in real life. The other shots seem too pink. 1975/1976.... ah they were the two years when the Triumph paint folk were overcome with paint fumes and caused them to make such way out decisions on colours. They recovered after 1976
Whatever the colour, I have no doubt the car will be an absolute stunner
Mart for the next one PLEASE choose something other than a Sprint. I would love to see you do a FWD, I really would.
Keep at it mate. You know I am only kidding

Re: Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
Wow, I do like the look of this, Sprints always look best in bold "in your face colours".

Re: Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
Opinions of this are very personal but I think magenta really suits a sprint....but I dont like it on Stags at all...
Stags to me suit dark colours like Saphire or damson or Mallard. I hate yellow and magenta ones. But I quite like yellow on Dollies and Sprints.
I also think yellow looks wrong on T2000's.
Funny thing colour...

Re: Project THJ (Magenta Sprint)
That looks like a lovely paint job. I quite like the magenta. It reminds me of a friend's TR6 from years ago. I think it should suit the Sprint beautifully.

Al, would it have advanced quite as much if you had kept itxvivalve wrote:I knew I should have kept it!

I felt the same about BFR when I owned it, but it wouldn't be finished - and if it was, not to Marts standard - by now if I owned it.

I love the Magenta colour especially on a dolly, i'm glad your doing one as i can't honestly remember when i last saw one, but look forward to seeing this one someplace.
I would love a purple sprint to go with my yellow one, parked next to each other like Rhubarb and Custard
!
Cheers Neil
