Yeah I'm glad that Ste decided not to carry out his original plan to customise it, frankly I couldn't see the point in doing what he had planned.

More importantly it is nice to know that this car is going to be looked after by Phil, the poor fella seems to have been waiting forever to take delivery of it, looks as though that time is drawing nearer.

I guess it's a bit like awaiting a delivery date back in 1975 from the factory - well worth the wait.

Just on this point; The car is being restored as a hobby and as such I knew it would take a while. To be honest, I am happy with how long it's taken as my target for it to be on the road was the Tatton Classic show in august, so it's plenty of time (famous last words, eh?)

Dollybird:- Once the car is up and running, i will certainly be out and about so perhaps that isn't out of the realms of possibility.


I must admit to having taken something of a puritanical view to the restoration. As much as it isn't a hugely desirable model, I do think that with it being rare and original that it would be a shame for us to turn it into "just another modified car" by messing around with it. Any changes to how we received it spec wise will hopefully be kept to stuff easily reverted to standard, as well as things that would have been likely fitted when the car was a current model.

I don't really know Ken. Not a lot to be honest as I think it looks fantastic as it is!

The car looks great Phil! I had a Dolomite 1500HL with a Unipart luggage rack, I think they look great on the Ajax cars. Should look good accessorised too, that's what I've done with my Dolomite 1300.

I must point out to all reading this that bar two shiny squares on the old bonnet, Stejack, largely from Popular Classics is 100% responsible for this fantastic transformation. Without him I've little doubt that this fantastic car would be now on it's way to the far East to be made into a Hyundai or something.
