So, ive recently totalled up some of the receipts for materials/parts during the restoration and they currently reach roughly around 1700/1800, thats excluding many favours called in and of course all the labour that was done by me. It has been a costly but much loved project. Im currently trying to gauge her value/sale worth out of curiosity, so any expert opinions gladly welcome to speculate on the value for me... :)

Again, i will be back soon with more...cheers all!

Its always very hard to judge values but I would think its at least a 4 grand car...

Did you know you arent supposed to have black and silvers? I wouldn't worry cos most Plods don't know that either, but if you do get pulled by some analay retentive
little fascist, just be as nice as pie and plead ignorance.

Also your boot panel should be matt or satin black....think I would have gone for black drums to loose heat better...but its hammerite so wont stay on that long anyway...:-)

But its looking totally Ace.....also unusual for a non od car to have a tray. If you fancy an o/d box I'm sure I could do you one...

Hi Jon,

Yes I know about the black and silvers, I've got the original plates in the boot for speedy changing, lol, I just really like the look of them and since having the car done I have had countless police officers stop in their cars/vans and comment on how nice the car is, the other day i had two stop to tell me that a few of the local police have a 'top ten cars list' as seen in the area, and apparently mine is up the top somewhere. :) So I've been fortunate with the police so far here, I think it is down to attitude on first speaking with them, that and it can be bit rough in this area sometimes, so speaking to me must be quite a difference than the local youth, lol.

As for the hammerite, used properly I never had any problems with it coming off due to heat, In the past its been used on up to 2.5 litre engined cars with london breaking and stayed on for years, I've also used it on rocker tops/cam covers with no problem either over time.

With the boot panel i decided to leave it for now to be different, A few things on this car are non original, I still might do it as I have to do the stonechip along the sills and a couple of other things too. :)

Thanks again Jon!

A credit to you, that car is the mutts'!

I think Jonners is light in his value by a long margin. Though approached very differently I reckon its as good as any of Mart's, so I'd get it insured for £6k at least - have a word with Andy, he's the Insurance Co respected representative and can sort out agreed valuations.

On that basis, spend another £30 on a set of silver side pinstripes, you'll be amazed what they do for the sleekness of the lines of the car...

6k isn't enough for insurance purposes if it's of that standard.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

Absolutely superb job..really like the way you have restored it to your spec rather than the original route as I would normally do. Hopefully I will get to see it one day.. :)

Well I'm really glad that you guys think this is up to the Mart Standard...

I'm very inclined to agree as an insurance valuation is not the same as a sale price. However I'm also not sure the Autonet7's ex Jonners brown job was that far
behind either and I'm not sure what he finally got for that.

I'm not going to hijack this excellent resto thread to talk prices though. We can all do that eslewhere....lets keep it on message and enjoy this cracking example.
