Just done a swine of a job on my DAF. Removing the cross resonator to weld it up on the bench. I attempted to weld it on the car but couldn't get enough penertration to stop it breaking again almost imediatly. However I did manage to weld the mounting nut to its bolt. Getting that off proved interesting and even refitting is a pain as theres not enough clearance on the flange for a socket and you need a spanner bent to crazy angle, about 8 arms and to be a contortionist to do it.

This is the third time ive done the replacing cross resonator job and its been an ass every time. At least now I have some power and Gladys is no longer doing a harley davidson impression

Last week I was asked to restore a 1939 Austin big 7 that has been stood since 1971 and today asked to recomission a 1960 Austin A40 which has been stood for 8 years all I need now is another few days in the week and an extra 20 hours of day light every day.

If I had walked home 30s later today I would be dead now!! Witnessed a trailer come away from its tow vehicle and career across the pavement in front of me before pirouetting and taking the side off a car going the other way

A priest, an ophthalmologist, and an engineer were golfing one morning behind a particularly slow group of golfers.

The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!"

The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!"

The priest said, "Here comes the greens keeper. Let's have a word with him."

He said, "Hello, George. What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?"

The greens keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we let them play for free anytime."

The group fell silent for a moment. Then the priest said, "That's so sad. I think I'll say a special prayer for them."

The ophthalmologist added, "Good idea. And maybe I could examine them to see if there's anything I can do for them."

They were silent for a moment.

Then the engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?"
