The Rally "Sprint" is (was) Andy Moss's latest project down here. Only finished it about three weeks ago. Drives really well (apparantly) - not been in it. Based on a donor 1850 shell. Good work on it tho'. No doubt you'll get further news from Andy idc.

I really don't see the point of using a fake ID on a car to save a few quid on road tax. Sure use the shell but don't de-value your car by making it tax free. I guess for some people they would pay more for a tax free Sprint but to me if you can afford a Sprint you can afford to tax it. Car does look nice though.
Show looks good too!

Thanks guys for all your comments about the 1850/sprint project. After owning and restoring a standard sprint for 10 years and being without one for about 5 yrs i was on a mission to do something different,i bought sprint head, carbs uprated springs and a new wing and needed a good dolmite to fit them to on a budget ,also i was offered a lot of sprint mechanicals locally from a friend in the club.the car has been done to represent a st rally car with some of our own mods eg carbs, seats and bonnet vents.

I agree with that. It also just adds another ingredient into the mix of what and when a Dolomite Sprint really is and when were they manufactured. No wonder the general public get confused over the models in the range.
Surely this is not a case of using fake id? is this not the original registration for the 1850 shell used, then its had a paintjob and sprint parts fitted. something that many of us have done. To be honest i think its great that he saved the shell. It even better now its got sprint running gear, and a bonus that its tax free.
