Scottish Dolly Day 18th September

#1 Post by melj »

Due to the fantastic success of the club stand at last year's Selkirk Show, this will be run again this year as our Scottish Dolly Day.

The date for the diary is Sunday 18th September and again Allan Cassie will co-ordinate the club entry.

His starting point will be to assume we'll get a similar turnout this year and that we may see many of the same cars and faces. If you are keen to be part of it, you can get in touch direct with Allan on 0131 665 7506.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year - I'm going to a hen weekend rather selfishly organised for the show weekend!

Hope everyone is well, I haven't been on the forum much lately but must get back into the habit of logging in! Car is still on the road anyway and as reliable as ever.

Cheers
Mel

It is nice to hear you are doing fine Mel.
Your car's big 4-0 is looming next year?

Indeed, the car will be (shhhhh) 40 - she's a lady so doesn't like to be reminded of it! Had her nearly 5 years now. I've a couple more years before I reach 40 too!

18th is tight, I'm hoping to do an engine and gearbox transplant at the beginning of September, along with all the other things I can think of whilst the gear is out and anything else that crops up.
Would be nice to make it.

Hope everyone is getting geared up and ready for the show!!

Please get in touch with Allan Cassie if you haven't already, to book your place.

I hope it goes well and I'll be sad to miss it!

Yes, I think I'm signed up for that one, I'll give Alan a ring to make sure.

So near - yet so far

I'm actually up from London (hopefully in the Dolly) visiting my father, sister and niece in Langholm so not far away but having to return home on the 17th otherwise I'd have come along.

Should've got them to rent the cottage a week later!

Regards

Sadly, I will miss this one this year. No MOT or tax on the Toledo. I'll be driving past the show ground the day before on my way to visit my Dad!
