TahitiSPRINT wrote:Hi, judging by the pictures of the roof, I'm pretty sure your Sprint used to be Emerald Green (code 65).

In this link you'll find some pictures.

It's a rare colour and classy too, only available in 1974 and 1975.

Good luck with the resto!

Cheers,
Foei Ronald. Did you forget the 50-BE-54????? September 1973 and all emerald.

Ha Jeroen, gelukkig nieuwjaar!

Kenteken 50-BE-54
Datum eerste toelating 07-03-1974 ;-)

Do you have a Heritage cert. for your car? We want to see proof with pictures

But of course you are right and Emerald Green was probably only available on the first series of Sprints (VA 2001 -> VA 10745) produced between July ’73 and May ’75.

Quite a rare colour 8-)

Well the irony had well and truly started!!!! When I lived in the uk I lived in Chelmsford Essex and my wife is also from Essex (and yes she came with white stilettos) as the dvla thinks the car is in the uk I might just get it transferred over to my name then tell them where it really is.

Don't think I will bother with the heritage cert at the moment don't fancy spending about a $100 aud to know what it came with off the assembly line prob do that when she is all finished but right now I would like to know as much as I can from when she was driving on uk roads

Emerald green was available on ordinary dolomites and toledos from early in production. I know of a K reg emerald doly that is in the first 300 IIRC.
It got swapped for a more Leyland colour from 75 on that saw most of the nicer Triumph colours get swapped for BL standards. Emarald is nice....
bit more subtle like Mimosa is to Inca....which is a bit in yer face for my tastes. (Sorry Reg)

I think Emerald got mapped to Java...a fairly hideous mushy pea green that afflicted Minis Spitfires and Stags and TR7's but Ive never see it on a dolly. Only Brooklands after the rationalisation.

How about applying for a V5C using a friend/relative's UK address? You won't have to worry about SORN as it hasn't been taxed since way before 1998. Then you could send off for the previous keeper history (£5 and completed V888). Going the Heritage certificate route would be costly. What about an appeal in "Practical Classics"?

The former Essex boy (and girl) and former Essex registered car is indeed ironic!

Yep already on that the wifes mum and dad live in essex and will be arranging the v5 for me.

Im not a fan of the green plus under our sun it might be a touch much so im thinking of going vermillion as ive never seen it on a Dolly on our shores and I think it could be quite different.

Well got the old Autosol out today and went to town a bit giving the chrome the once over to see how it would come up and a conclusion was quickly reached......stuffed. The only thing that will be useable again to the standard that I want is the front nose badge which had a birthday see pics below. So now I have to find a good chrome guy in Perth which might not be easy or cheap

I can help with sh chrome trim Paul, got a lot of it. Mine polished up fine, even the bumpers were passable.

but, where did you get the C-pillar stickers ? The circular sprint ones. I tried replacing the faded yellow using some yellow transparent tape but it doesn't look right, those stickers look the biz.
