I was about to say they look like GT6 5.5J wheels! They're worth plenty if you sell 'em ;)

I've only got 4.5Js, but tail-out driving's where it's at :)

So what did i do today???
- Well i adjusted to front Drum brakes which started to pull to the one side.
- The front grills had lost most of there silver colour, so they were taken off and sprayed back silver. They now look pretty good, almost new even :wink:
- Now i dont want to affend the purists amongst us, but i swapped round the indicators lights, so the flashers are on the out and the side lights are on the inner. Personally i think they look more "propper" this way, and it aids safety!!
- While the grills where out i then inspected the rusty wings, which proved that there even worst than imagined! :cry:
- I changed the air filter, and thought i'd try weakening the mixture on the carb, as it was running slightly rich. I ended up weakening the micture a bit too much, so i turn it back a few flats and now it seems about right. :wink:

Just wondering, i put £10 worth of petrol in a few days ago, and it seemed to have achieved 4o odd miles out of it. Is this good? This was while it was running slightly rich.

I plan to just tidy the car up a little for the mean time, but i plan on getting all the welding work done when the weather starts to pick up, sometime spring :D

Thats all for today folks, Here's some pics off my work so far;

:o Blimey there is some "plop" in the front of those wings, I think you'll have to get that sorted for when the next MoT comes around.

Interesting that the grilles are one piece, early cars (like yours) often had two piece grilles - the radiator part and a headlamp surround that when together made up the entire grille.

But yes, good work...carry on the updates please.

Well the thing which attracted me to the car soo much was the fact that it had MOT till May. So this leaves me plenty of time to get things like the wings and sills done :D
Yes the grill did puzzle me :? The car has had an holigen conversion, so maybe sometime in the past its ha them replaced?? :cry:

This evening me and my little bro, have been preping the spare boot lid which came with the car. Sometime this week, i'll be able to buy some cellulose primer and some cellusloe sapphire blue, meaning that i should be able to fit it to the car by next saturday :wink: Here some pics;

I wouldn't worry about the grill being replaced, I doubt anyone would notice.
I hope your headlamps have been wired through a relay... Good luck with the wings etc. too!

Also, my indicators will be going on the same way, just looks right IMO.

Simon R already linked to that one, it's not the right fitting for a Toledo. (Late one with plastic fillers between the spokes, so it's an 066 and not the correct 034). :wink:

well done, i have 4 kids so going a bit slower than you...lol

well just to let you know i had my tolly delivered/driven by a transport company all the way from Tonnbridge in Kent to South Devon and it cost him £30 in petrol...... :wink:

so thats about 225miles of country roads 70% /duel (A) roads 30%, are you sure you don't have a fuel leak? just a thought :?

Thanks for all the advice and compliments guys,

@ Purplebargeken, Hi, cool i'll search up some pics of his car, to see how good they really are, as im a bit sceptic and have always been told to avoid Fibre glass panels :snivel:
@ toledo boyz, Thanks for the advice on fuel comsumption. I drove the car on a 100 mile trip from calne to wolverhampton, and it cost me £15, in petrol which is similar to yours. I've weakened the micture slightly now and it seems to sip its fuel a little more now :mrgreen:
@ Lord Tolly, Yes, i plan on going to stoneleigh in march, look forward to seeing yours and everone else cars :)
