theheadlight retaining panel is different on the square and twin cars so it would mean cutting out the old panels and welding ,onto rust ,the new panels.
a lot of work ,if you are after brighter lights go for a halogen upgrade.
And the halogen upgrade is much cheaper on the square headlight models anyway (just the bulb and some relays), as opposed to replacing everything as on the HL models.
I agree that square lights are better.
I have a 1971 2 door Toledo that I rally with halogen lights in her, only thing is I have 130w bulbs in her with a relay on each light otherwise you will melt the switch!
I think the square lights actually look better than the twin lights in my sprint.
Stick with square!!

I've been thinking of doing the same n thought you just swapped the black grill sections from the square type to the rounded twin type?? or is it a case of taking that front panel out all together & putting a new front piece in??
There is a bit of metalwork behind the grill that supports the headlamps that needs to be changed over. It's a part of the inner front panel IIRC
...and just so happens to have been reproduced by the Club. Trim it down a bit and I understand it can be fit as a repair section from inside the arch...
