This is with uprated dampers (Spax) and slightly uprated springs on the front only (they came off a 1300 fwd Triumph).
It shows what a Sprint can do as the Skyline behind me did overtake but I could still spit on him a lap later which is remarkable for an old car like ours and Mad Marts is faster still..............and the racing ones would leave the Skyline behind 8) unless the driver were replaced of course
Be very careful not to make the back to stiff as the car will be horrible to drive and the tail will wag all over the place.

it seems like a bit of roll is no bad thing then, if not driven mine in anger yet but i'll see what its like soon, ill probably not bother with uprated suspension unless i do any track racing.
cheers for the responses :)

It is indeed possible to uprate the ohv engines.
There have been articles published in Club magazines over the years.

One of these featured a Janspeed Toledo. It could be made to make over 100 bhp but its fuel consumption was chronic! Think Jaguar XJ6  .

Re the cornering,
there is little point fitting uprated springs/dampers unless you first replace the worn out suspension bushes.
I have Superflex bushes and standard suspension c/w 175/70 tyres on Minator alloys on my 1850, the result being a nice
predictable car. People do comment often on how well it corners.

Thanks for the reply :) yeah I'm currently looking into a set of twin carbs in the hope of a little more torque, that's interesting about the suspension bushes, maybe I shall.invest in some.
Cheers.
