Re: patch........JWD 483L
well after what seems like a lifetime painting and polishing i've finally finished for now. not to happy with the match on a couple of panels but i'm not sure what went wrong either, they all got sprayed at the same time, same amount and with the same paint.......what do you think? cheers craig

Looks very smart. I see what you mean about the colour mis-match though.
Re: patch........JWD 483L
That's lovely Craig, did you use exactly the same primer on the whole car? A light red like that can be quite transparent, if not as much so as yellows, so any difference in the primer would do what you see there.
None of that alters the fact that the car's looking fine though.

Re: patch........JWD 483L
thanks, yep used the same primer all over. if i didn't know better then i'd say there's no primer on the wings. to be truthfull from most angles it doesnt show as much. Going to leave it a while before doing any more about it,may end up going over the wings again.
btw the auto is working really well, seems as sprightly as with the manual,at least with my style of driving

Craig, I'm glad you're warming to the 1850 auto. The 3.27 diff might have something to do with it...
How many coats of primer did you put on? That might have something to do with the colour mismatch if the previous colours are still showing through.
