This looks pretty darn good to me sir, top job...! I am not a huge fan of the whole matt paint thing but this just looks spot-on. I really do think a touch of pin-striping would work perfectly on this, that's what you need to look in to next...

Good luck Andy,
this kind of project is hard work. You have to be singleminded and determined.
It can be tiring to work for hours just to do a "little" (eg a sill end closing section).

Start with the sills.
Support the car by placing its wheels on blocks of wood (cut from railway sleepers?).
Leave the doors on (for as long as possible) to use as reference.
Don't cut out too much in one go.

Once you have replaced the sills the car can be supported to allow removal of the front suspension,
which will be necessary to be able to satisfactorily repair the inner wings.


Set aside time each week to work on your car. It is important to do this and stick to it.
Since you are new to this, it may help you to ask in advance what to do, rather than wait until you are stuck/unsure?

/\/\/\ What Ian says - with the additional recommendation that you take a read at Darren's 1500TC resto thread. His car was at least as rusty as yours in the sill areas but by taking his time and measuring more often than he cuts, that car is going to end up with every bit of the strength it would have had when it was new. The shells are essentially the same in terms of methods so the information's all relevant.

Umm, that is a bit rusty isn't it. PM me your address and I will send you a 'mickey mouse' ear that I fabricated a couple of years ago. It may need some slight trimming but should be fine. You can use it as a template to do t'other side if needed.
