Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
Isn't this wheel reinvention and duplication with the Dolly Wiki?

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.
Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
Not to mention that all the tips posted so far have been taken from this very forum anyway...
Okay ........
Nick,
For nearly two years I have been compiling snippets of info from this forum to be included in Dolly Mixture.
(Others had previously volunteered to do so, but I am the first to actually make it happen.)
After numerous positive comments (made by PM) you have now made the first negative remark .
Out of the entire TDC membership we only have about 250 members who access the forum, so
we are trying to encourage more to access this facility.
Thanks,
Ian.

Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
Yeah, I understand why you're doing the DM thing - it was the posting it back here again that confused me!
Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
on a tangent slightly, but out of curiosity how many members does the club currently have? Surely the 250 on the forum make up the bulk of us?

Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
To supplement the technical tips, I'd like to add a link to the PDFs of the parts catalogues and factory workshop manuals that I've uploaded on my cloud storage. I've included it here so everyone can have access to it (not just Club members).

Re: A Compilation of Technical Tips
This is not a technical tip 'per se' but I find it very helpful to stick a bit of masking tape on an unfinished job, especially if I have several jobs at hand and it may take a week or two to return to that particular job. If for example some bolts need to be tightened, I stick the tape on the bolt/s and that reminds me.
Sometimes I write a small note with a feltpen (pencil will erase itself somehow) to jog the brains....
This tip evolved from a chat I had with my nephew who works as an aircraft tech and he was explaining that all the fluttering tape you see on the outside of a plane before you embark, are points to be checked and the tape then removed before the flight commences.
