I have a variable power supply so I set it at 12V and 2.2A and left it over night - the calipers were really rusty when I got them! Rather than using bicarbonate of soda I employed washing soda (more concentrated and cheaper) - it worked a treat so many thanks for passing this technique on. Good luck with the resto I really enjoy the thread and the other restos on here a really interesting and good way of learning things!

P.S Note that the gas that comes off is Hydrogen so no smoking while the cleaning is in progress!

Hello again
Still doing bodywork. Was not quite happy with the front end, rusty and collision damage . Now ordered a new repkit lower front + alot of small things. I have also decided to replace both outer sill. The left got a rust hole, right was dented and got alot of deep rustdents but no hole. Also want to have complete control inside sill.
Subframe are also purchased new ..... new old stock ....... The old had been in a fight with a big angry stone ...... subframe did not win this battle.
