Very solid, just needs some TLC
It isn't Orange!!!!!!
The other one wasn't Purple either!!!
One of the new ones will probably be green, very green.
Another new one is green too but not as green as the previous one. Still pretty green. No, now it's Blue.
The other new one will be white with stripes. Actually it might not. No, it will be.
BUT, that one is definitely Yellow :=}

Is that the 2nd oldest surviving Sprint? It is one of the press fleet and will have a very low VA number.

VA1 is in the Coventry Motor Museum, not sure if it runs or not.

Wouldn't it be great to get as many of the first 20 to STAR90 as possible?
We're taking VA6 and our Vermillion Sprint, which one of the last.

Ian very kindly transferred it to me because he knows my Paul will fix it and love it. She does have a few outstanding issues but nothing we can't sort out.
And Yes, he does love me :smooch:

:bluewave: ....I remember VA6 - the engine was in my Old car - which had been a re-shelled sprint with a very, very dodgy 1850 shell - with holes so big you could get your fist in! - AND it had an MOT!

...needless to say just 3 months after I sold it, ( ..for £400 mind - and I only paid £300..!)
- it ended up in Podders, our local scrapyard in Nottingham - I remember putting it on the forum way back when that if someone had VA6 , they might want to have its original engine

- and I think it was Ian who went and rescued it - quite possibly the strongest engine I've had in ALL my sprints - that thing was VERY fast...
altho' that might have been all the aerodynamic " natural Weightloss" that had Occured ....

..the very best of luck with the old girl -

I remember VA6 - the engine was in my Old car......

I'm curious to know how you got the engine?

It would be great to trace the original engine for VA6. It is certainly not in the car now and I don't think it was Ian H who rescued it. He thought it may have been sold, by the owner previous to him, to someone on the isle of wight.

If anyone might know what happened to its original engine which was also VA6, we would very much like to know, so that in the future it might be possible to reunite the car with its original engine.

Thanks.

...I can probably find out - I still know the main man at Podders, so he might remember such a specific request...might be worth checking the DVLA site as well tho...I'll try and see if I have a pic of the car it was in, and its reg. number which escapes me...
- I bought it from a chap called Lee in the Nottingham area of Ilkeston in 2000, Lee was in the club for a few years, and had a mint pag. blue 1850 If I remember right...He will Obviously know who put the engine into the re-shell and why...

Thanks, any assistance you, or indeed anyone, can give us to trace the original engine would be really appreciated.

From the DVLA records which were passed to us from Ian, around 2000 the car was living in Illston Leicestershire which isn't far from Ilkeston. However, the owned wasn't called Lee, so the engine might have been through a couple of owners prior to you purchasing it.

If you could enquire whether Podders have any records that would be really great.

Thanks.
