Restoratin Prpject
Restoratin Prpject
Can anyone suggest a good restoration business for my 79 Dolomite Sprint preferably in the midlands, it needs some body work and an engine rebuild
Re: Restoratin Prpject
Fuzz Townsend's place Westgate Classics is really good, and reasonable

All depends on what needs doing and how much you've got to spend. In my experience a lot of so called restoration specialists know nothing about proper restoration and just bodge and fill. If you find the right people though then the cost can vary enormously from cheap to very expensive. I know of places and people who fit all budgets.

Perhaps you should start watch car "SOS" - on National Geographic 526 on Sky - excellent program, Fuzz does a proper job. The other week he had a Ford Anglia - once the car was stripped, he scrapped the car as it was to far gone - even stated that the car was a death trap and he would not repair it.

Yes it's a good show, I like the work they do but I imagine they have a considerable waiting list as a result. The 'well known specialist' who originally restored my donor car did a s##t job and charged the PO a fortune for it. That's why it pays to find someone you can trust. When I was dropping off my wood trim the other day nr Nantwich I came across Phoenix Auto Bodies, looked good and had a good chat with the bloke there. No idea on costs though.

Yes, I am pleased with other examples of their work. Not cheap but frankly I'm not keeping tabs on stuff like this, it gets to a certain point and you don't really care.Flyfisherman wrote:Then out a third morgage on your trim repairs then ? - Cliff and Chapman.SprintMWU773V wrote: dropping off my wood trim the other day nr Nantwich
