I fitted the steering rack and front ARB so the subframe assembly is pretty much ready to be reinstalled in the car. I also continued stripping, cleaning & reassembling the carbs. It took a lot of work to get the black off but with the aid of some Gunk, wire wool & toothbrush I got there in the end. Hopefully finish & reassemble them tomorrow.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. ... Still Sprintless.
Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.
I cleaned the inlet manifold & sprayed a few things this evening. I took apart the brake balance valve, or should I say "brake in-balance valve" (tandem brake system) & took a pic so that peeps can see the magic bit inside.
The system is split between the front & rear wheels. If there is a leak somewhere in the system the shuttle (the black bit in the middle of the pic) will be forced either one way or the other & will activate the switch and the brake warning light on the dash will illuminate.

That really does look nice, so fresh looking. Inca is sooo nice when it's new.
Thanks for the pics Mart

I like the universality of the black and decker workbenches. I reckon every home workshop in every country has one. Mine is 25+ years old, a bit the worse for wear, but a trusty old thing.
Should have left the old one on, that was full of holes
On a more serious note, look the Mutts Nuts does the shell Mart and I look forward to seeing the reassembly.
It will Be nice to see this late model all back together. Remind me, is it a very late model, the time that had moved to plain D badges on the pillars, circles in the hub centres and a black and gold laurel wreath badge on the front. The are not many around like this, I reckon many owners changed the badges to give a full Sprint identity.
I have to admit that looking back over your recommission work on PUS, i can honestly say its an absolute tonic to see whats achievable with a little dedication and the obvious experience your time with this marque has given you.
