A few pictures of RON

#1 Post by Ron1966 »

Only recently joined the forum, but have owned dolomites since 1986 . I brought RON in may of 1986. Over the years he has been three different colours, Honeysuckle, Mimosa, and now White. I get bored with the same colour. I hadn't used ron for 18 months but decided to mot and tax him. He used to be my daily car but I only use him sparingly now. Had problems getting him running after the layup. The newtronic electronic ignition decided to pack up so I had to steal the lumenition off my other dolly KRJ. Running ok now but probably needs the timing checking as I could hear slight pinking on a run out earlier. If I remember correctly I had to run KRJ on something like 7 or 8 degrees btdc to stop pre ignition. Anyway hope you like the pictures.

Nice but I hope some anally retentive plod doesnt pull you up on the illegal plates. You have to be pre 73 to use b+w.

I'll also be a churl about the placcy seats, unless you have nicked leather ones from an Innsbruck or Rio or 45, in which case I'm jealous.

I like honeysuckle, and if yours was that colour out of the box it must have sat about for a while before being registered.

Keep the original plates in the boot just in case Jon. The seats are leather tops, sides and backs of the front seats are the original vinyl though. Alun Nicholas had them recovered a few years back , as my interior was the worse for wear I purchased them. They are very nice. He still may be able to do another set if you are interested, as being able to find good quality black seats is virtually impossible.

Ah yes I vaguely remember it now....

Nice advert for it. I'm not sure about the plates in the boot. That could imply a knowledge of wrongdoing...:-). I'd leave them at home, plead ignorance, and terribly sorry officer...I'll put that right soon as I can....

You off vynil roofs as well?

I must say, a Sprint does look.......well STRANGE TBH without a vinyl roof but once you get used to the idea its ok!

I think there was "delete vinyl roof" option for some export cars destined for hot climates
