Help @ star 90

#1 Post by Merl1300 »

Just arrived at Star 90 Chesford Grange. As I drove into the car park the Clutch failed. Looks like the master cylinder has failed - slight signs of leakage around the cylinder from inside the car.
Can anyone in the Coventry area help please? Ideally with a new master cylinder or seal kit and fluid would be great.

Any suggestions for where to get one ?.
The cars a 1970 1300 Front Wheel Drive.

Any help or suggestion much appreciated.

Sorry, I thought I could help out but I don't have any FWD seal kits in stock. I assume they're different than Dollies?

Thanks For looking Mart. I've been told the part numbers for the kit are 515258 and this checks out with Rimmers site. An alternative number is SP 1963.
Don't know if it's the same as Dolomite ones. Maybe 1300.

If the kit is SP 1963 its the same as Toledo, Dolomite 1300/1500 Herald Spitfire Mk1 Escort etc etc ad nauseam
Its THE most popular girling seal kit there is!

Would Bruce have anything available, might be a good idea to get in touch with him if someone can dig out a contact number for him?

I dont think he lives too far away?

Fluid replaced and system bled. Appears to be holding. Should get us to Gaydon tomorrow.
New Master cylinder coming from Rimmers tomorrow.

Thanks to all that have helped with this. Much appreciated.

Neil.
