Windscreen Rubbers

#1 Post by Mad Mart »

Where's the cheapest place to get the Dolly windscreen rubbers from? I've gotten them from Fitchetts before but he uses UPS & the delivery cost is usually quite high.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

I can't help with the rubber seals but I recommend Rarebits for the trim strip. I bought some for Brown and it was a perfect fit. Highly recommended.

They wont seal with a laminated (thinner section) screen. They only seal with Zebrazone and are listed for the Toledo and 1500.
The rubber quality is poor and they look frayed in the corners within a year.

There are issues with some trim strips that stand too proud...not sure if that's the Baines rubber or the trim strip though.

You can buy direct from Baines...that's the cheapest.

Assuming they are the same for the 1300fwd I'll probably need one too.

With the funds the Club holds, isn't this an ideal opportunity for Club involvement; order 25 maybe, and have them readily available to members when they are needed?

I reckon. When I pluck up the courage to do mine, I'll need one. It's currently more gutter sealant than rubber seal..

Seems like a no brainer to me given the alternatives are no good for many.
