Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
Finished fitting up the doors except for the weather strips (which I need to order from Chris Witor tomorrow) and door panels...

Nearly finished installing the dash...

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
Having just removed my dash I was wondering whether to fit the windscreen before fitting the dash into the new shell but evidently this is not necessary?
This thread reminds me I must do an update on my own project very soon

Fit the screen before you do the dash, then you can see if it leaks....(it will) and where.
Are wittors weather strips better or does he sell the same crap I get from Moss....spitfire ones you have to cut down.

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
The weather strips are just the same as anywhere else these days except Chris's are cut to 520 or 540mm. (can't remember which). They're taller compared to the originals and you have to cut the bit off that goes around the chrome uprights. You also need deeper clips, which he also supplies.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
Chris will cut to whatever size you want, I find his strips (outer) are better than Rimmer's - they are more flexible and look better. He also does repro inners strips, again he will cut to any size, and does the clips. He also does drop glass channel rubbers - they are superb.
You can guess what I've been doing!
Oh, another thing - Chris's prices are superb.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
We had this week off from work so got quite a lot done. As you can see, we're on the downward slope towards the finish. I even managed to get the engine cranking as well. First time I tried to turn the engine, nothing. That often points to the connector near the gearbox (I knew the leads were defo. on the starter). On closer inspection of the connector I noticed the pin-outs were different. So after a quick sort out I got the engine cranking.

Awesome as always Mart. The orange screwdriver is about the only thing I have in common with regard to 'Sprint' progress these days.
