I don't know why I spun tbh. I thought I may have spun because of the concrete dust that was there from a previous session oil spill but I'd been through it 3 or 4 times before the spin. There was no warning, usually you feel the back end going & correct it but it just snapped round. I restarted straight away and carried on slowly but then, as you heard in the video, the engine started clattering. When we got back to the pits it was clear that one of the oil cooler hoses split. The engine was covered in oil.

I hadn't replaced the worn Yoko 032 on the front so I used my road wheels. After the 1st session there was feathering on the outside of the tyre but it didn't seem to get any worse as the day went on. As for the LSD, I hadn't looked at that either but it definitely needs adjusting. I'll have to find out how to do that. It's these pesky restorations taking up all my time.

My ex work colleague (he left on Friday) took some photos. There's a few of me in there.

Super pictures, keep them coming!

Could it be that oil from your split oil cooler hose reached your rear tires and thus forced a spin? Hope your engine turns out to be easily repairable so we can all enjoy your next outing

Is the sump baffled ???
You may need a Mallory sump
Only take a few seconds of oily air to wreck an engine .
Hope the damage isn't to bad .

This is my only pic of the club stand a bit later on in the day, all the cars that arrived looked great though

Sorry it's bulky, I don't know how to shrink it I'm afraid :/
