Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
I have a working viscous I took off Martin if you need one. Not local and can't get to the garage for about 10 days but available if you need it. PM if it's needed.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
OK, thanks guys. I've taken it off & lubricated it as much as possible and I have changed the fan belt. It seems better but I need to get it running a bit longer to confirm.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
When you put the exhaust on did you put the manifold flange bolts on with copaslip....
I'm just swapping the box on SFB for its current owner and the manifold flange will not budge....
So its all out and it will come off tomorrow...but hey ho maybe after 5 years they seize anyway....
And rimmers exhausts are sooooo awful....they never fit right and are always a nightmare to get off again.
Here is a big fat vote for the factory original....

I doubt the coppaslip lasts that long on the manifold bolts anyway, but it was an original exhaust when it left me.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
You say spacing washers on the front shocks? Are these the rubber ones that go between the spring and the top plate or am I missing something?

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
There are (or should be) flat washers about 2mm. thick that fit over the 3 studs before you insert the shock into the turret.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
There was a small matter of removing/replacing the engine & gearbox on the S2000. I managed to get just about everything finished on VHK and then...disaster...
Whilst I was trying to get something in the attic in the garage, a pair of NOS front wheel hubs (GT6 apparently) fell 2-3 feet on to the roof of VHK leaving a few small dents and a tear in the vinyl. Hence there were tears and I now have to redo the vinyl roof.

It's not good when you spill tears over tears.

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
Clutch job ?, not a small task and well done. I've just had to do a box change on one of our cars, bearings let go, a real naffer cos I only had the box out 12 months ago to fit a new clutch, so had to take the 'had it apart and together 12 month ago, so if managed it then can manage it again now', never the right way round is it, if the box let go first I would have done a clutch as a matter of course whilst it was out, c'est la vie.Mad Mart wrote:There was a small matter of removing/replacing the engine & gearbox on the S2000. .
As for VHK, such a shame, but at least you can replace the vinyl yourself without revrting to a specialist for a re-run

Re: Project VHK (Inca Sprint)
VHK has just passed the Mot test.
No advisories.
Just need to get the stripes on now.
...and replace the sports exhaust with something that fits!
