One of the cam tab loacking bolts has dropped down in to the engine of my 1850. Can this be retrieved without taking the front of the engine off? Would the bolt have dropped in to the sump.
If anybody can help me please ring on 01788536349
Thanks
Frank

Difficult to say I'm afraid. It could be sat on the timing chain. Get a torch & have a look. I have a telescopic magnetic thing that I use for such occasions. Being that's it's a single chain it may well have gone straight in the sump.

Can shaft nut
Hi - thanks for that
We have had all sorts of magnets, mirrors and lights to try and spot the nut. It appears to have dropped right through.
I think the first course of action may well be to take off the sump housing and see if its dropped in ther.
