windscreen rubbers - finishers and trim clips - how much!

Those of you wanting a rubber for the early zebrazone toughened screen either tinted or not will be ok with the Baines rubber.
Go direct and ask for the Toledo/1500 one.

It will seal ok but wont last forever...it soon splits at the corners, but you can fill it in with dum dum....or your black runbbery sealant of choice.

I've had one on mine for about 5 years now....it doesnt leak.

It WILL leak if used with a laminated screen....

I am led to believe a T2000 saloon's back windscreen has a perimeter some 10cm longer than a Dolomite.


Chris Witor has had these remade to his high standards in EDPM rubber......

I have a used example of the toughened screen's rubber but that doesn't help much because the priority has to be a the laminated screen type.

So being thick I take it that means you have to cut the rubber and join it again having trimmed 10cm out.

Where do you recommend doing the cut? Should be OK cos the non OE rubber on Z magnettes is done the same way....you have to join it with suitable
adhesive.

As I mentioned enquires are in progress so we may be able to secure some fronts but we would need to order at least 100. I cant see a smaller quantity being viable particularly if a new supplier needs tooling. If anyone would like to discuss or coordinate then perhaps get in touch else this will just end up with several if us trying to do the same thing.

Traditionally the cut is at the bottom centre, all rubbers are made this way, its just hard to find the join in an OE one! I recommend a cyanoacrylate adhesive for the join (I've had to reglue some OE ones in the past, particularly the rear side windows on my Volvo 122S Estate, one of the few bits for these which is NLA)

I thought it was OE, but I appear to have used that one, but I do have an old aftermarket '904111' still in its bag. Made by cti or tti or cci, can't quite decipher the logo

I have a (damaged) laminated front sundym screen with rubber and trim.
I have no idea of the provenance of this screen and rubber and trim - it was donated to me by Jod a few years ago
There is a join in the rubber at the centre top.
The plastic trim insert is different to the rear trim inserts.
I have samples of both, but as I said I don't know where they came from (before Jod, that is). All of the measurements I take are the same for both trims, but they are different, ever so subtle. The original one looks to be symetrical, the one from the laminated screen is not.
The screen is 5.3 mm thick.

Does anybody have the profile of the rubber? It is possible that Rarebits4Classics might have a suitable match in their extrusion catalogue which can be found HERE. I know they're Herald specialist but there's an overlap with the Dolomite. I'm sure it might be worth investigating. Why look into getting the rubbers remanufactured if there's something suitable already out there?

Hi All,
Just been looking at the windscreen rubber pictures and I can see the grove size is different from the baines rubber.
As I said before I have two new Baines rubbers that I will not use.
Can Edin Dundee please measure the depth of his old rubber grove and width with the glass out as I think
this is also important if we get them remade or find a suitable replacement.
The trouble is that if you buy a suitable replacement and still find it does not fit nice or leak you have not only wasted another £40
odd quid but time and poassible damaging the glass.
We must try get it right.

The screen rubbers are shot, so it's easy for me to cut off a section of each and compare - HOWEVER - as explained, i can't say if they are originals or aftermarkets..........

If the club don't want mine then it's off tot he tip very shortly.
