I'm guessing it's temporary. The build looks good!

I wondered if anyone would pick me up on that, new Gaz shocks should be delivered this week.

I just needed to get the axle fitted to free up some space & see if the 15" alloys foul the arches before I have them refurbed.

Unfortunately they do, so I need to get them machined by about 3mm to increase the offset.

Now why on earth did I not think of doing that?

I will try some local firms, I want someone who knows about alloy wheels though as when I bought the wheels about 12 years ago the company said they would machine them to the maximum offset, I reckon another 3mm could be taken off no problem, but I might be missing something?

Did you get a c spanner with them, you'll need one! Also, spring length is important, I've had to wind mine right up to get the car remotely drivable on its 14x6 boots, when I set the spring seat to the same height as my Spax (measured from the mounting bolt to the top of the seat), you couldn't roll a coke can under the front spoiler, or wedge more than 5 playing cards between arch and tyre... Strange.

No, I was hoping a spanner would be supplied with the shocks, do you need 2 sizes as the seat & locking nut are different sizes?

Where did you get your spanner from?

when I bought mine, a C spanner came with the front ones (from TSSC shop) but not with the back ones (Rimmers sale) I lost the original and ended up scrounging one from an S13 owning drifter mate then modifying it slightly to fit my smaller diameter spring seats. One size did fit both though. To lock it I held (or a mate did) one ring and tapped the other tight with a hammer and screwdriver. Has not come undone so far in 3k miles or so except when I wanted to adjust the height which I have had to do 3 times now as the springs bed in!

I bought mine from GBautomotive on eBay, £8 or something.
Used the same one for both collars.

Have ordered this pair of C spanners, sizes seem about right.

You going standard springs or chopped?

I have purchased these shocks a while back and I look forward to fitting them. I refuse to put originals back on the car, it never had them before.
