Law and order UK trailer on tv.

#1 Post by stokieat75 »

Any one else seen the trailer for law and order UK, is that a square headlamp Dolomite being dragged out of a river? As I cannot pause TV I cannot tell but it looks like it if so hope it was beyond saving to start with.

Yes it was beyond saving and has been sat around in a TV production companies compound for a few years after it was 'destroyed' in another TV program or so I have been led to believe.

TV production companies do not as a general rule wreck usable cars as it is cheaper to buy a wrecked car and bodge it up to make it look good for TV.

Justin is right! TV companies are total cheapskates. I used to live and work near Pinewood studios and was once priveliged (horrified) to come into contact with the Bentley used by John Steed in the Avengers. It was a Hybrid Mongrel of bits from several Bentleys and many more anonymous scrapyard donors with a knackered MkVI engine that used more oil than petrol and a woodworm infested body that was brush painted every few months to keep it looking shiny for the cameras!

I too saw the Dolly on the L&O trailer and wondered how long it would take for someone on here to notice!
