whats wrong with clutch??
whats wrong with clutch??
as you all know i have brought a 1300 dolly, needs work but dont they all..
thing is the clutch doesn't work at all.
you have pressure behind pedal.
no leaks as i can see from master or slave.
so could be clutch fork?
or clutch worn out totally?
what do ya think... winner gets a can of something
cheers terry

If the car has been stationary for a while the clutch may need freeing off. Select 1st or reverse with the engine off, then try to start the engine (keep the clutch pedal fully depressed).
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years.
... Still Sprintless.

I've just had to replace the clutch plate in Snowdrop and I'd only replaced the clutch last July. The car has only been in daily use since I got her through the MoT last October so it ain't had too many miles. Once the gearbox is back on I'll be cooking on the proverbial gas. My replacement clutch plate was only £12.10 from my trusty local motor factor and they had it on the shelf!

I've got a similar problem,
My dollys stood for about a year then we went to replace the exhaust. Couldn't press the clutch pedel down at all... so my brother who was helping me stomped his foot hard down, BANG, bonnet open, watering cans out, pipes split, now i've sorted the exhaust, gotta sort the bloody pipe out, but the nut that the pipe goes through into the gearbox won't come undone, so I keep soakin that in WD 40 to try n free it off. Once I finally get this pipe replaced, does anyone have a clue as to what the problem could be as I assume replacing the pipe & replacing the fluid won't change a thing. I have a new clutch slave cylinder just incase its that, but what do other think???
There was no problem with the clutch before it was stood

After you've fixed the pipe, You will need to free up the clutch. the easiest way to do this is to start the car in gear and then drive around in circles with your foot on the clutch. (you need a fair bit of room to do this)
If there was enough pressure in the system to split the clutch hose, I should think the hydraulics are ok.

damn clutch!!! having not looked at dolly for a few weeks.(new job, wife, 21month old baby) you all know how it is.
i thought i had sorted clutch but no. what i thought was a good pedal wasn't. so had a go at bleeding it again. i now have a pedal that feels about right. but still no clutch.
it very hard to get into gear. so sounds like the clutch needs more bleeding
if i drip the clutch pedal i can start the engine but there is alot of noise and the gearbox vibrate lots. and the clutch smokes.
does this all sound like the clutch needs bleeding or something else??
any ideas?
cheers terry
