Think I'll just turn up at the Ace.
I get quite enough driving around London...the gatso's roadworks and stupidly low speed limits all over the place have just ruined it for me.
Sorry I'm being a kill-joy....
I'll see if I can find an Acclaim to borrow and cheer you all up...

Re: LONDON TUNNEL AND TOWER TOUR 7TH JUNE 2014
Just to update
7AM PROMPT please
The start point is Greenwich SE10 8XJ. Just before you go into the Royal Observatory there is a road that is blocked off directly across from the Entrance, this will be the meeting point (same as last year).
Ending at NW10 7UD, there should be plenty of room at the car park, there was last year. And a good cooked brekkie too
If you need to contact me please pm me
All the best and happy and safe driving to all

Will be visiting the Ace Café in a Triumph mood but driving a Toybota this year. The load that's going back to Holland again doesn't fit a Dolomite/2500S. The volvo 145 should have enough space but the extra volvo that i have to take with me then would also be a tight fit for the parts.

Re: LONDON TUNNEL AND TOWER TOUR 7TH JUNE 2014
Well I had a mare of a journey.
Apparently some artic shed its load and closed Hangar Lane. I found a way to it down back roads and then had to go out of London on the A40 to past Greenford before coming back round from the north. I arrived about 11:30.
Turnout was high in quality for what it lacked in quantity - Oli and Jeroen to be precise.
Traffic was equally horendous getting home.
I guess Oli was put of by the traffic but Jeroen popped back to collect some bits. Nice to put faces to long time forum names.
So whare were the rest of you?
Really liked the cactus old T2000 mk1, lovely valencia mk2 GT6 with bespoke suede door cards, 2 nice TR6's ( one sadly in saffron ) and a very sweet R reg Java TR7 owned from new by the same guy. Special for the absence of sun roof and very original appearance but now on a Rover V8 engine.
The rat look magenta Dolly with side exit exhaust really worked for me too....so anyone with a sandglow car can be inspired...
For once Spits were the most numerous...4 including mine...
The Ace is a great venue and this event deserves more support. Lets make more effort next yeat and hope the rain and traffic dont spoil it again.

Gutted I didn't make it but the rain down south was horrendous & I really didn't want to expose my freshly finished car to the weather, bit precious of me but it has cost a lot to get it done.
It really is the law of sod that 12pm onwards has been bright sunshine, definitely be there next year..................weather permitting

Re: LONDON TUNNEL AND TOWER TOUR 7TH JUNE 2014
I really wanted to do this but as of 6.00am this morning the only road going car I had was a Vauxhall Zafira hire car. In any case, the driver definitely was not road worthy having over indulged the night before.
That said, I have worked hard today to finish my Moggie Thou which will now be displayed at the Bromley Pageant tomorrow.
If any TDC folk are going to Bromley do let me know and we will try and hook up for a natter.
