Yes, but not the most ideal setup. I do not want to move the shocks on top of the rearaxle so the upper links are a bit closer next to eachother than the bottom ones.

Well that's what the works TR7's also used as they had more or less the same problem (chassis leg in the way),
but it brings the rear roll centre down a bit which is always good.
And it seemed to work quite well bringing down the rear roll centre a bit.

Indeed something I want to do on my TR7 Sprint, using this set up as a guide ...



But instead of a Panhard rod I plan to use the Watt's linkage from a Rover SD1,

I think a watts linkage does not much more than a panhard rod. The only advantage is it centres the axle as a panhard rod does move the axle a bit. For rallying a watts has no benefit and adds a lot of weight, not only the linkage but also the reinforcment needed at the body.

My dolomite has a raised suspension. The negative effect is a higher roll centre. The lower arms are this way angled more than std. The benefit of this is that it has an antri tramp side effect. The less horizontal the arms, the more the arms are pushed away from the body when accelerating. This same force of pushing the body up is also pushing down the axle so more pressure on the road, less tendancy to oversteer and higher cornering speed. I alway's thought the weight of my LPG tank was causing the anti tramp but is not.

When lowering a car the arms go more horizontal and causes less grip. The escorts had the arms almost horizontal and when accelerating the rear gets down. That's the opposite what you want. The car is pulling it's rear legs in and that's less force on the road when accelerating. I'm almost not believing myself saying this because it means ford had it all wrong but all the stage rally cars that lower their back when accelerating are very tailhappy. The opels do the same. On the other hand, dragracers who have very angled arms do lift their back when accelerating.

I do not know if you once ride a Kreidler from before '65 with the swing arm front suspension. It's the same design but backwards and it raises the front when braking very hard. The same design backwards under a rear wheel drive car want's to push the axle to the front and causes the rear to lift.

The radio sounds ok and has normal black and brown iso 8 pin connectors. There's nothing special about it, only a classic look front part.

Hello, the engine is still not finished. BUT:

The interiour is ready, sd rollcage almost ready. I did tryfit it in a bare shell to modify it. I have made the reartubes detachable for the event the kids come with me to the UK next year. It's a daily driver so not much need for a cage but it was lying around and this car is the only candidate for it. The new family car is the 2500 so not much family driving in the future with it. The car is currently away for a partial respray. But when all shiny again i had to respray the spotlights, 8 in total. Cleaned some bits etc. I'm now using st spotlampbrackets and did modify for extra lamps. The car has now a temporary subframe/suspension and the one what was under it, complete st gp2 reinforced is getting freshed up and the trackerjack brakes fitted. So there has happened a lot but no pictures of rusty subframes etc.

When it has arrived from the sprayer and some bits are fitted again worth showing i will start showing off again.

And a lot of other things to do. My house resto still not finished and this week it was get the 2500 running again. It was recovered from the UK and arrived last friday. My wife did drive the volvo for two weeks now and she and the kids don't mind but the rest of the world does. It looks about the same as this one but than in red.
