Sorry to correct you on this but....Carledo wrote:Calipers from a Sierra 1.6 or 1.8 model will go under Sprint wheels. The 2 ltr calipers, though larger will still fit the TJ conversion brackets, but the Sprint wheels will no longer fit. I believe (though i've not tried it) that 1 or 2 of the Escort mk6 calipers will also do the job (seeing as how Sierra calipers are getting thin on the ground in scrappies)
Steve
The 2 litre calipers are exactly what the conversion uses and always was so, the ones that are bigger are all the XR series and of course the Cosworths as all these use larger discs and calipers to suit.
The standard sprint alloys will still fit however on some cars due to manufacturing variables a little grinding off the caliper is required.
These calipers are getting thinner in scrappies but because so many kit cars use them there stacks available from recon people.
Xr3 Xr2 Orion etc use them too.
The rare parts now are the caliper brackets as these dont come with recon calipers.
The KA is now common in scrap yards and it has 239 mm vented brakes on the 1.2 16v so Sierra parts are not the only source.
